World Mental Health Day – advice for intermediaries

At Hinckley & Rugby for Intermediaries, we understand the stresses and strains the financial world can put on those working in the industry, particularly in the current, consistently changing climate.

The past couple of years have proven to be challenging, especially the recent months. With a volatile mortgage market, and what has felt like an ever-changing base rate, we know that there has been a considerable amount of pressures on brokers, who are constantly striving to deliver the best results they can to their clients.

This week, we’re marking World Mental Health Day. In-keeping with this year’s theme for the campaign – make mental health and wellbeing a global priority – we’d like to share some of our tips to encourage you to put your wellbeing first.

Watch our video below for some top tips:

Our friendly BDM team also wanted to share some of the things they do to manage their own mental wellbeing and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Nisha: “If you’re feeling overwhelmed, take a moment to rebalance mentally. I also like to organise my day the day before, so I can manage my workload and know what to prioritise.”

Molly: “I always ensure I take regular breaks and keep to a set routine to avoid getting distracted and overwhelmed.”

Gina: “In order to make sure I switch off after work, I always make sure work is left at my finish time and use my evenings and weekends to do something I enjoy!”

Jen: “I enjoy going out for a walk on my lunch break – it takes my mind off work and helps me refresh ready for the rest of the day.”

Sophie: “When I am at home spending time with my family, I am present at home – no checking emails on my days off!”
