The award for Best Self Build Mortgage Lender was presented to Hinckley & Rugby at the 2023 Build It Awards. The prestigious event was held on the 24th of November at the Hilton Bankside, London.
For over a decade, the Build It Awards have been the most coveted accolade in the self-build industry. For the Best Mortgage Lender category, judges looked at how lenders had implemented or improved their offering to address the specific financial needs of self-builders.
Reacting to the award, the Society’s CEO, Colin Fyfe, said:
“We didn’t set out to win this award. We simply determined that we would become the best mortgage provider to self-builders. We did this by developing and enhancing products that meet their specific needs, developing seamless communication channels, and offering unparalleled flexibility for self-build projects. As part of the judging process, lenders’ self-build borrowers were encouraged to complete a satisfaction survey. Only customers who had mortgaged during the last three years could participate. Customer satisfaction accounted for fully one third of the total judging score.
